Before there were sold-out arenas, viral moments, and artists who could take their talent anywhere, there was the Circuit.

Known historically as the Chitlin’ Circuit, it was a network of Black theaters, clubs, ballrooms, hotels and gathering spaces where Black entertainers could perform, build audiences and become legends during an era when many stages were closed to them. And Miami had a seat at the table.

Tales at the Table: The Circuit explores that legacy through the music, nightlife, food and stories that helped shape generations of Black entertainment. This time, we’re bringing the story to Historic Overtown, once known as the Harlem of the South, for an experience rooted in a neighborhood that lived this history.
