WHERE CHAMPIONS WERE FORGED

We journey to a sanctuary of world-class preparation and a landmark of Black athletic resilience:

5th Street Gym.

This is the actual site where "The Greatest" prepared for his most significant impact.

ARTISTIC RESISTANCE

One woman’s refusal to perform for a segregated audience changed the narrative of the Beach forever.

We honor the profound impact of Josephine Baker, who used her global platform to demand the first integrated performance on Miami Beach.

An ABFF 30th anniversary sanctioned event

While the world descends on Miami Beach for the celebration of the screen, we invite you to step into the unwritten chapters that made this moment possible. This tour is brought to you by The Miami Beach Black Affairs Advisory Board and is a curated journey through the resilient soul of the Beach.

We go beyond the neon lights to the sacred training grounds of champions, the stages of artistic resistance, and the high-end storefronts of modern visionaries. Join us to honor the rebellion, the resistance, and the relentless Black excellence that paved the way for the red carpets.

Come walk the history. Leave with the legacy.

The Miami Beach Black Affairs Advisory Board serves as a vital bridge between the City of Miami Beach and the Black community, advocating for equity, access, and meaningful representation. Through its work, the Board ensures that policies, initiatives, and cultural investments reflect the needs and voices of the community it represents.

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is the premier annual event dedicated to empowering emerging talent and showcasing film and television content by and about people of African descent. Founded in 1997, the festival has evolved into Hollywood's leading talent discovery platform. In 2026, ABFF marks its 30th anniversary under the theme "Homecoming"—a tribute to the festival's rich legacy and the expansive community it has cultivated over three decades.
